Seeking Solace: A Journey through Existence......23.02.2024

"Where do I seek thee,

In humanity's tears or a child's smiles free?

In the ever-changing tides,

Or within temples, churches, and mosques where faith resides?

In stone, hill, stream, tree, or sea,

Notions, notions, floating endlessly.

Where do I seek thee?

In pulsating life or a glistening leaf's decree?

Nature, where seeking is a feature,

Trees yearn for light, lamps with oxygen, creatures.

Fish in water, birds in the air,

What do we seek, what's our affair?

Food and shelter given, yet seeking more,

Fun, solace, a deeper lore.

Seeking the unknown, meaning in the void,

In nothingness, seeking, endlessly deployed."

Explanation: The poem delves into the existential question of where one finds meaning and purpose in life. It explores the various facets of existence and the relentless pursuit of fulfillment.

It contemplates whether meaning can be found in human emotions, in the innocence of children, in the ever-changing world around us, or within the structures of religion and nature. The imagery of seeking in tears, smiles, temples, and natural elements reflects a search for significance and connection.

Ultimately, the poem suggests that despite the abundance of resources provided by nature, humans continue to seek something deeper—a quest for understanding, fulfillment, and meaning even in the void. It's a reflection on the complexities of human existence and the eternal search for purpose.

On February 23, 2024, I am sharing three poems along with explanations. I hope you enjoy them; they reflect my contemplation on life and spirituality.
