The bird perched on a dry twig knows its fragility and is ready to fly away at any moment. Yet, unlike the bird, humans cling to their dependencies, tied to the twig until they come crashing down one day. Despite considering ourselves superior to other creatures, we often exhibit behaviors that reveal our imbecility and vagaries. Instead of finding solace in living, we find ourselves afflicted by it, as it becomes the malady we acquire.
