Dead clocks, meaningless time

Clocks, clocks, clocks scattered throughout the house, on walls, tables, and cupboards. Their batteries long dead, freezing them at the moment the battery ceased. Each clock displays a different time, ironically mocking the non-functional clocks. Time moves decisively, laughing at these frozen reminders. Occasionally, one may unwittingly mistake the dead clock's time as the present, prompting thoughts about the meaninglessness of time.

In the evolution of timekeeping, from watches with small keys to analog and digital devices, our perception of time has shifted. I stopped wearing a watch, deeming it redundant with ubiquitous cell phone presence. Punctuality, once highly valued by my father's generation, seems to have waned in the era of shiny electronic watches.

In today's fast-paced world, time is a premium commodity with distances and numerous tasks. The struggle to be on time persists, and the impact on punctuality is a topic of discussion. Let's explore instances where people neglect punctuality, reflecting a changing attitude towards time and its significance in our lives.

In a child's play, time holds no sway,

An old man counts, biding time's display.

Comatose, no qualms about the ticking chime,

For lovers in delirium, time's irrelevant in their rhyme.

Life's chess, for one, finds time repugnant,

A runner fleeing, oblivious, no sense of time's enchantment.

Worried and hurried, time finds its sense,

Yet animals and plants dance in time's cadence.

Planets and Earth in a cosmic ballet,

Existence marked by time, winding up like a play.

Spans differ, each life its own rhyme,

In this tapestry of existence, how crucial is time?
